Day 180: Baby, You Can Drive My Car
I wouldn't say that I'm much of a car enthusiast, but this fantastic old Bentley parked down my street has just been screaming for me to photograph it... I love all the details.

Day 179: Pretty Please with Sprinkles on Top
Lots of projects due at work this week and lots of help needed. I'm absolutely not above bribery, especially when it comes to bringing homemade sweets. Look out, work friends! I'm bringing the Funfetti tomorrow!

Day 178: Goodbye, Jane!
My friends Jonnett and Scott and their sweet little girl Jane are moving from Memphis to Pittsburgh later this week. We had a last little get-together tonight before they hit the road so I had to get some photos of Miss Jane. She was a little skeptical of the camera at first, but we finally got a big smile once her daddy got in on the action. We'll miss ya'll, Jonnett, Scott and Jane! Come back and visit!

Day 177: Sleep Patterns
With overcast skies, afternoon rain and day-long headache, I spent most of the day just relaxing - slept late, curled up on the couch and made good use of my assortment of pillows and blankets. A little boring, but much needed rest....

Day 175: Feliz Cumpleanos??
Today's photo is courtesy of the not-so-great camera on my blackberry because I didn't have my camera on hand to capture the moment. (Again, lesson learned!) And I figured there was no way to top this one today...
Little did we know that our lunch at the Happy Mexican would include an impromptu birthday celebration for my team member, Burton.... and it's definitely not his birthday. The wait staff came over to our table, whistling and singing and carrying a rather large sombrero and birthday sopapilla, and promptly plopped the hat on an unsuspecting Burton's head. Then they pushed the dessert in his face, leaving him with whipped cream on his chin. As for the rest of the table, we just all looked at each other, trying to figure out who had pulled the prank. A few minutes later, we discovered the culprit... Burton's uncle, who happened to be sitting at a table across the room. Hilarious and the highlight of my day!

Day 173: Pearl's Day
I decided to treat myself to a yummy shrimp poboy from my favorite downtown seafood place, Pearl's Oyster House, in honor of my grandmother's Pearl Jean Reed's (a.k.a. Mama Jean's) birthday. Good thing she's not reading this blog since she hates the name Pearl, but just in case... Happy birthday, Mama Jean!

Day 172: Trying to Keep Up
Lately, I feel like I'm living my life on a slow shutter speed and everything is just zooming by... like the trolleys on Main Street. Nice simile, huh? :) Work was crazy today - I still don't feel like I have caught up from my week's vacation earlier this month. Urgh. Just taking it all a day at a time. And who needs sleep anyway?

Day 171: Last Night at the Levitt Shell
Stopped by the Levitt Shell for the last night of music in the Spring concert series. I just love the lights on the Shell behind the musicians! Can't wait for the Fall series to come back.

Day 170: Sunny Saturday
It was super sunny and hot today in Memphis. Made a quick trip down to the Memphis Farmer's Market and found these massive sunflowers, which seemed fitting for the day. Happy weekend!

Day 169: Hackett Family Extravaganza
Started off my weekend with a photo shoot with the Hackett family. With new husbands and kids in the picture, my friend Sarah thought it was about time for an updated family portrait. The Hackett women are all proud Chi Omegas so we decided the Chi Omega headquarters in Southwind would be the perfect backdrop. Her family is just wonderfully funny and kind, and her nieces and nephew are so precious. Thanks so much to the Hackett's! Can't wait to show you the rest!

Day 168: Small Town USA
Hit the pavement today to promote an upcoming fundraiser at work and ended up exploring many parts of Memphis I have never seen before. I ended up at the Collierville Square, which was as charming and quaint as promised. There were lots of great backdrops for pictures and I could envision a great photo shoot there. Any takers?

Day 166: Surprise Happy
I was so excited to receive a surprise treat from a friend today as a thank you for helping on a recent project. Is it sad that I'm letting people pay me for my photography in wine? :)

Day 165: Sweet Slice of Summer
A friend of mine told me that I use the adjective "sweet" way too much on my blog so I figured today would be a perfect opportunity to feature a red, juicy, sweet piece of watermelon to kick off summer. Yummy and oh so sweet! :)

Day 164: Hush Y'all
Spent a very HOT afternoon today volunteering at the St. Jude Classic. I love the oh-so-Southern stamps that the organizers put on the event with the "Hush Y'all" tagline, sweet tea and seersucker winner's jacket.

Day 163: Sam's 3rd Birthday
My friend Mary Alice asked me to come out to take photos of her sweet son Sam's 3rd birthday party at the Marion Fire Station. What a fabulous idea for a birthday party! The kids got to take a ride on one of the fire trucks with sirens blaring - so exciting! And like any good birthday party, there was plenty of sugar to be had with cake, ice cream and candy from the fire truck pinata. Such a fun party! Happy birthday, Sam!

Day 162: Family of Four
I capped off this week's visit to DC with a morning photo shoot with Cat, Malloy, Maxwell and Murphy. It was definitely my honor and pleasure to capture their first official photos as a family of 4. I know I might be biased, but they are a pretty picture-perfect family with two of the cutest kids around. Cat & Malloy, thanks for a great visit! Can't wait to see ya'll again soon. Love ya'll!
