A Fool for Lighting

This week's lesson in my photo class was all about studio lighting... and I think I'm a little hooked. I totally hogged the equipment and basically wanted to buy everything they showed us! So fun!

Crawdads

This weekend's assignment for my photography class was to take pictures of our normal type of subjects. Since I unfortunately didn't have any photo sessions scheduled, I had to sell for a food shot... crawfish to be more specific!  Made my way down to a local crawfish festival with some friends on Saturday. It was such a gorgeous day to be outside and it was so great to get a taste of home.

Working on My Skillz

I finally made some time to enroll in a real photography class at the Memphis College of Art. It's something I have been wanting to do for so long so I can really work on improving my photos... and stop just lucking into a good photo!  First assignment was essentially a still-life so I dug my old (maybe Dad's?) broken SLR camera out of the drawer for a little new meets old.  Not sure what my next assignment will bring, but stay tuned...
