Lucky Hearts
Wow! Yesterday, I had the chance to photograph my first official wedding, and again... wow! I was introduced to Shelly & Jay by a co-worker and knew I liked them from the moment we had our first Skype meeting. They are such a great couple, excited to renew their vows and celebrate with all of their friends and family. It was so special to be a part of their "first look" and watch them just enjoy spending time together on their big day as we made our way around downtown before the ceremony. Their ceremony was so unique and sweet, made all the more personal by their two-year old son Sebastian running circles around them. Finally, it was on to the big party - and it was a total dancing crowd. Shelly & Jay were out there the whole time with their friends, families and especially their nephews tearing up the dance floor! Even sweet little Sebastian stayed out there - he didn't want to miss a thing!

Quality Time
Home from a week in DC for work and play. I took on the challenge of "nannying" for Maxwell and Murphy on Tuesday and Wednesday while Malloy was at the GOP Convention and Cat was back to work after their vacation... and we did great! We went to the park, played lots of Candy Land and rocked out to Call Me Maybe, Life is a Highway and We are Young. I made "hot dog families" for lunch and we ate suckers and played with bubbles in the backyard. I just love these 2... and of course their mommy & daddy too.

Happy Birthday, Hudson!
I can't believe Hudson is turning 1! It seems like just yesterday I was taking Misty's last-minute maternity pics, visiting Hudson in the hospital and taking his newborn photos. He is so cute and so big! Not to mention, he has the best little smile! We braved the weather out at Shelby Farms this morning and the downpour held off until right after we finished. Thank goodness! Thanks so much, Misty! The things I do for you...

Miss Katherine
I have been anxiously waiting to meet the one month old daughter of my friends, Elizabeth and John. And little Miss Katherine was just so tiny and sweet. I kept putting my camera down so I could just hold her instead. She was bright-eyed for the camera and was so good when her big, slobbery siblings bounded into the room. We completely wore her out by the end, which meant I got to get some great catch-up time with her new mama! Elizabeth & John - she's beautiful! Can't wait to see y'all again!

Feels Like Home
Not a lot of words to describe this past weekend spent helping my parents move out of the house we lived in for 14 years. It may not have been my childhood home, but it was home when I left home... and for that, 2250 Myrtle Avenue will always be special. But as a lovely embroidered tea towel once told me, "Home is where your Mom is" so I look forward to new memories in their new home.

Stick It
Diette's bachelorette party + Olympic opening ceremony = once in a lifetime opportunity for patriotic sequins and cut-offs. Classic.
