Old Man River

We've been on major flood watch in Memphis this week. The Mississippi River is already more than 9 feet above flood stage and is expected to rise another 5 feet or so in the coming days. One of the most impacted areas right now is Mud Island downtown. Despite warnings not to, I couldn't help but make my way down there for a few photos.  It's amazing.  In the pictures below, the river should normally be well beyond the trees that are now totally surrounded. Crazy!  Very grateful right now that I chose the 3rd floor apartment in the very high off the river South Bluffs apartments.  I'm literally high a top a bluff and then on the top floor of that.
